Anaemia

Anaemia is when you have low iron in the blood. This can make you feel tired.

Catheter

A dialysis catheter is a small tube a surgeon makes that goes into your neck or tummy. This may be needed if you choose dialysis.

Dialysis

Dialysis is a common treatment for kidney failure where fluid (and waste products) is removed from the blood. You can have dialysis at home or in a clinic.

Fistula

A fistula is a connection a surgeon makes between an artery and a vein. This may be needed if you choose dialysis.

Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR)

eGFR is a measure of how well your kidneys are working. When this is below 15 it means you have kidney failure.

Supportive care helps people to live as well as possible by managing their kidney symptoms without dialysis.
